20.01.10 - Eastern Blues teams up with Bridge Views
This week the Eastern Blues has teamed up with www.bridgeviews.co.uk - the ‘thinking fans blog’. Members who were able to tune in and watch the 3-0 demolition of Birmingham on Wednesday night put their opinions about the performance on paper and were included in the blogs first match report written by a ‘panel’ of Chelsea fans. Bridge views was started in June 2009 by Russell, and has grown rapidly ever since. Russell is a season ticket holder in the Matthew Harding Lower and is keen to point out the blogs full title is not designed to sound arrogant or elitist. Whilst Russell seems to think other blogs may be able to stir passion for the club better, the aim is that Bridge Views offers something a little bit different, where fans can debate the issues that go beyond just the pitch. Since June the blog has included not just match reports and transfer rumours, but also the merits and downfalls of the ‘diamond’ formation, youth policies, the ever changing managers, the clubs farcical ticketing system and the Stamford Bridge naming rights. Unlike other Chelsea blogs it includes articles on separate topics, such as, is TV rights destroying football, and Drogba’s diplomat efforts to bring piece to the war torn Ivory Coast. Russell is keen to work with real Chelsea fans from all over the country and with the Eastern Blues in particular. The are plans for fans from the club travelling to the KC Stadium on Tuesday to again contribute to match reports. If you are willing and would like to be involved, please get in contact. The blog has thousands of Chelsea fans read it on a weekly basis, so hopefully some of those living in Norfolk may notice the Eastern Blues if they had not already. Russell is also keen for the views of our members on articles written on the site, suggestions for article or any improvements regarding the site itself. Any suggestions, check out either the feedback section of the blog or get in contact via admin@easternblues.co.uk
